Mariée exhibits bridal as art. Like silk sculptures in a pristine gallery, Mariée presents some of the world’s leading bridal designers with undeniable vision and taste. We travel to New York, London & Barcelona every year to select our very favorite designers, and bring them all together in our boutique for a truly exquisite exhibition of the best of the bridal industry. Designers have been carefully selected after close inspection of their couture quality, construction, use of fabrics, and value for money by our owner (who is a trained fashion designer and a former buyer for a multi-national company). We are extremely selective about who we work with, we don’t simply work with a designer because of their corporate branding or their ‘label’, we look beyond the marketing and work with designers who genuinely produce some of the most stunning and flattering bridal gowns in the industry. Whether you are looking to spend over $6,000 or under $1,000, whether you are looking for a simple and traditional gown or an extravagant & flamboyant contemporary masterpiece, art comes in many forms and there is something for every bride who sees this as her moment of self-expression or her moment to walk the red carpet.

Claire Pettibone

  Claire Pettibone   Claire Pettibone

For the woman who dreams of pure poetry in motion, Los Angeles designer Claire Pettibone will indulge her every romantic inclination. Born to artist parents, it was inevitable that Claire would enter a creative field. She spent her early childhood living in rural New York in a nineteenth century home where her parents created their art, and Claire began to draw and paint as well. At the age of 4, she attended a wedding at St. Patrick's Cathedral in Manhattan that left a lasting impression. Claire was so enthralled with that walk down the aisle, that she began drawing brides and begged her mother to make her a wedding gown!

After graduating from Otis Parsons School of Design in Los Angeles with a degree in fashion design, she and her husband Guy set out to bring Claire's ethereal vision to the world of fashion. The company began with a luxurious collection of fine lingerie featuring delicate laces and the special details that have become Pettibone's signature.

As fate would have it, Claire designed a bridal gown for a dear friend. Word spread and clients began flocking to Claire's flagship salon in Beverly Hills. A few years later, Pettibone launched her bridal collection in New York to rave reviews. Featured in countless bridal magazines ever since, the designer has developed a following of brides looking for a truly unique and timeless creation. She has quickly risen to the top of her field, and the collection is now carried in premiere bridal salons across the country and around the world.

"A wedding gown has to be the most beautiful dress in a woman's life, make her look and feel amazing, and capture her essence," says Pettibone. Her gowns have a vintage quality, but the references are combined in a way that is truly modern. "When I create a dress, it's all about the fabric and the woman, and how these elements are combined to enhance each other," says Pettibone who works exclusively with couture European embroideries and laces. “So many brides want an intimate and individual feeling for their wedding, and the dress really sets the tone," says Pettibone who has created gowns for ceremonies in castles, forests, beaches and gardens in addition to the traditional church and hotel ballroom.

And who says a wedding gown has to be snow-white? Pettibone uses subtle tints of champagne and antique lace to illuminate the bride in a soft glow. Often inspired by vintage fabrics and fashion history, this designer has found a way to meld her love of things past with a new perspective that results in the perfect dress for the bride to enchant her guests as she walks down the aisle.

Claire’s dresses are truly unique in the bridal industry, are stunning works of art and are still made by hand in Claire’s studio. Her dresses are priced at approximately $2,100-$8,500.

Matthew Christopher

  Matthew Christopher   Matthew Christopher

Matthew Christopher is a critically acclaimed designer who is based in New York. Matthew’s interest in bridal design began very early as a child looking at bridal magazines in his local grocery store. After studying at the Art Institute of Chicago and Iowa State University, Matthew moved to New York to begin his internships at several well-known bridal design companies. He continued to design collections for some of the biggest labels in the bridal industry, before launching his own collection in 2002 at the age of 26. From his very first collection, Matthew’s gowns have represented modern elegance combined with classic glamour. From the hand-drawn, organic beading to show stopping silhouettes, Matthew creates drama in every detail. Over the years, he has created unique and stunning dimensional embroidery, cutout windowpanes, precise pin tucks, hand-knotted bows, flowing flowers, sweeping trains, and elegant draping. And just as important as beauty on the outside, each gown is carefully constructed on the inside to provide an impeccable and comfortable fit.

Matthew is incredibly passionate about his work and designs out of his studio in the heart of the fashion district in New York City. He is typically featured in his advertising campaigns (and with his good looks we can’t really blame him!) and loves nothing better than personally speaking to each and every bride who buys one of his dresses!

Matthew has been nominated for 5 years in a row for the DEBI (Distinctive Excellence in the Bridal Industry). His dresses are priced from approximately $2,500 - $4,000

The Martina Liana collection is a joint couture collection by established Australian bridal designers Martine Harris & Leanne Collova. Martine & Leanne have been working in the bridal industry for many years, as the head designers for the major international bridal fashion label Essence of Australia.

Martina Liana combines heirloom quality beading and French laces with luxurious fabrics to meet the needs of today’s fashion savvy bride. Brides who choose a Martina Liana gown will have fabric choice options for most designs to come in Silk Satin, Deluxe Dupioni, Silk Taffeta, Angel Satin and Soft Italian metallic. Intricate hand finished detailing with three dimensional embroidery, sparkling Swarovski Crystals and Diamantes are showcased on these opulent fabrics. All of their gowns also come with a beading or plain option. Modest additions of jackets and sleeves add variety, effortless elegance and modern confidence to these contemporary gowns.

The impeccable fit of the Martina Liana dresses exemplify the couture craftsmanship of the gowns. A twenty-one bone bodice, built in bust cups and ribbon lined crinoline are just a few of the features of the dresses that will flatter the bride.

Martina Liana gowns offer incredible value for money, and we feel provide better quality than many designers in the bridal industry who charge twice as much for their gowns. The gowns are priced at approximately $1,400-$2,800.

Adele Weschler

  Adele Weschler   Adele Weschler

Adele Wechsler is a South African born bridal designer who is now based in Canada. Adele launched her career in the bridal industry in 1991, initially with a collection based around fine silks and laces.

In 2002 Adele expanded her business into the USA, and as more American bridal salons carried her dresses, her collections continued to evolve. She introduced sheer fabrics, embroidery and organic elements into her designs and captured the interest of the growing destination wedding market.

Adele is passionate about connecting with her brides. “I want to reach out to women in a different way. I want to help them connect to their history and their roots. I know todays women care about the world we live in, and I see my collections with some unique elements which brings this to life”

The evolution of designing for ‘the bride who cares about the world in which she lives’ inspired Adele to create the Eco-Couture collection. A collection with an eco-conscience. By infusing elements like organic hemp and silk, vegetable dyes, remnant fabrics, and hand-cut designs made in Toronto, Wechsler is able to offer brides an eco-friendly option with all the luxury of a couture gown.
